Design tips from celebrity residences!

Few design tips from few of my favorite celebrity houses!

1) Irrfan khan
A home as unique as the actor himself!
Designer: Shabnam Gupta - representing orange lane
The x factor: The composition, antiquity and choice of material and objects

Design inspirations: Unconventional and custom-made false ceiling
Bringing in natural elements like water and greenery
Wood wall paneling behind the sofa
Choice of furniture like the jhoola and charpoys
                                 Stone cladding in the arches
                                 Preferring wall art over wallpaper
Usage of mirrors to make a space appear bigger
Bottom line: Minimal choice of colors including the likes of white and blue but increasing its impact with the help of ample ventilation as white works best in natural light and supported by the choice of effervescent furniture makes the ambience serene yet cozy and bright.

2) Alia bhatt
What she has achieved at the age of 25 is inspiring and what else is inspiring too is her home which is fresh just like the actor herself.
Designer: Richa Bahl
x factor: young, cheery and breezy

Design Inspirations: Choice of tiles, especially in the bathroom.
Avoiding negative spaces by placing a small seating and shelving
Wall niches in the back of sofa which can be treated like a small display area
                                  A small tea bar
Artifacts and wall arts representing the personality and mindset of the resident
The cloud lighting in the foyer area and a small but cute seating provided by the side.
Wide range of colors but composed beautifully and choice of colors for the kitchen
                                 Grooming area
Bottom Line: A home is a reflection and extension of our personality and age and this residence of Alia Bhatt is evident to that. Beginning with the choice of colors, objects, displays everything roots down to an young mindset. But overall the residence is all cheery and lovely.

3) Parineeti chopra
A home designed to be as perky as the actress herself!
Designer: Shabnam Gupta - representing the orange lane
x factor: Meeky yet striking interiors

Design inspirations: The book wall
                                  Sewing machines for vanity top
Vintage phones as light fixtures in the dining area and industrial light setups in the balcony
The greenery interior lane leading to the vanity area
                                  Jaunty cushions and seat prints
Transparent shutters in the balcony area to enjoy the view, to bring in sunlight and to enjoy the monsoons of Mumbai.
Stone wall in the vanity area to bring in the richness and add grandeur to the space
Again use of mirror to make the space look bigger
                                 The Monopoly center table
Bottom line: Every space in a home requires a different mood setup and this home seems to achieve it. Let it be the fun monopoly center table in the living room to engage people in a room, or the cozy bedroom very minimal and comforting, visual barrier-free balcony to bring in natural light to the living room, spacious dining to spend a little extra time without feeling very congested and conversation starters everywhere be it the book wall, the vintage telephone light or the sewing vanity top.
