INTERIOR STYLES TO INCORPORATE TO GIVE AN OFFBEAT AND QUIRKY LOOK
Good
day to all!
Though
there are variety of interior design styles which give an ultra-stylish look I prefer
a little messy and colorful interiors and hopefully there might be other few
who prefer the same, on that note I am providing you top 5 most preferred
quirky design styles that can be utilized in an interior.
Bohemian interiors
The
top most preferred and my personal favorite is the bohemian style. It is
unconventional, messy and artistic and what’s not there to love about it. It oozes
charm and coziness.
It
is basically understood as a style derived from particular set of people ‘the
bohemians’ who were considered as adventurers or gypsies and the style is said
to be inspired from them. Hence the design is very open and free-flowing and
draws inspiration from various forms of art.
Usage
of vibrant colors, patterns and prints induces bohemianism in interiors. The furniture
are all a little rusty and antique with an unconventional color palette. Also one
of the most favorite element under this style is its lighting, mostly hanging
forms, it includes pendants and lanterns with beautiful colors and made of
mostly wrought iron.

Shabby chic
Despite the comparisons drawn against
bohemian style for the rusty and messy nature of the design, it mainly draws inspiration
from French interiors and few elements derived from rococo style.
Hence the color palette majorly involves
white dominance with pastel accents for feminine finish where much deeper
accent colors are used to give a more masculine finish.
As far as the furniture are concerned they
are chosen only if they have a very rusty and torn &wear look or given such
look even if they appear to be new. So they mostly prefer second hand
furniture, antique furniture or old style furniture like pie safes or jelly
cupboards.
Gardens are an integral part of this design
and are filled with feminine colors. Kitchens are a beautiful feature in this
design as they are a combination of white and pastel colors where white is
dominant and the pastel colors are utilized in the utensils and few other
accessories The overall interior look is pretty much cottage style dΓ©cor with vintage
like elements and brings in a feel of living in a quaint town of Paris.

Pop art interiors
Pop art is basically an art movement which
emerged in Britain and US during the mid-late 1950s. It draws its inspiration
from imageries of popular and mass culture such as advertising, comic books and
mundane cultural projects.
It mostly comprises of kitschy elements of
any culture organized into a single space. This ia a lesser known style and not
widely preferred though might be really good choices for designing a kid’s or
teenager’s bedroom.
The color palette is dominated with primary
and secondary colors which are too bright and vibrant which might be a little
too eye-itching hence they are compensated with major use of black or white
color which reduces the jarring effect caused because of the excessive use of primary/secondary
colors.
And as far the furniture are considered they
are pretty modern and sleek in its look and are given bright colors and are
used as accents. Another major feature of this design is the use of wall art of
pop theme to add more pop quotient to the interiors. The overall design is
bright and chirpy.

Retro interiors
Anything
which is inspired or derived from a style which has been considered outdated
comes under retro. Though this is not actually a style it gives people freedom
to use different styles in a single space, which were in use before as
individual styles.
Though
vintage and retro are little similar to each other the major differences are
that vintage is a little delicate in its approach whereas retro is vibrant in
its approach and also vintage majorly depicts a single style whereas retro a
variety of styles. From fashion to cinema and design 70’s and 80’s are making a
banging comeback and this is the perfect time to incorporate retro in the
interiors.
The
usual color palette of retro are combination of warm and achromatic colors,
though now it might utilize a variety of colors for maximum effect. The accessories
utilized might be of musical background or cinema background for better impact
of the style. Other features are like shiny and glam accessories and chequered
floors etc.

Moroccon interiors
For
people who love it quirky yet traditional morocco is the best choice of
interiors. It is able to pull off a traditional style with an offbeat approach.
Though most of the interior elements seem to be inspired from Islamic,
Rajasthani and Chettinad architecture the proper use of the elements and organization
is what makes this style stand out from the rest.
The
unique feature of this style includes its lighting famously known as the moroccon
lighting, wood semi-wall partitions, wall niches, and the usage of lamps over
bulbs in lighting. Also the detailing and the highly intricate designs of walls
and columns and ceilings stands for the wonderful craftsmanship.
The
furniture are very traditional and antique like charpoys, jhoolas, diwans and
the color palette consists of earthy tones and the overall look is very royal,
